Dr. Shadrack M. Mutuku is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within Molecular Horizons at The University of Wollongong. He completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Adelaide in Australia in 2020. His research focused on spatial mapping of lipid profiles of clinical prostate tissues by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) to identify markers of tumour aggressiveness and androgen receptor-targeted treatment response as well as bioanalytical characterisation and visualisation of enzalutamide uptake in a patient-derived tissue culture model of prostate cancer. His PhD thesis was highly regarded, resulting in the award of a Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. Prior to Adelaide, Dr. Shadrack M. Mutuku attended the University of Nottingham, England where he pursued a MSc. Degree in Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Here, his dissertation project involved using an immobilised artificial membrane as a phospholipid bilayer model to study it's effects on drug-receptor kinetics. He also holds a First Class Honours degree in BSc. Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya.
