Opeoluwa Adewale is a PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHBSPH). His research revolves around infectious diseases, host pathogen interaction and public health. Prior to pursuing his PhD at JHBSPH, he graduated from the Redeemers University as the best graduating student with a first-class degree in Microbiology. While in high school, he represented his country at several international competitions including the prestigious International Biology Olympiad on two occasions. He is passionate about community and nation building through youth empowerment because he believes that the youth is the strength of every society. He achieves this through motivational social media posts and mentoring students throughout their academic careers. His goal is to work in a position where he can apply his skillsets and knowledge for scientific advancement and to raise the next generation of scientists in underserved communities.
