Gerald Mboowa bioinformatics scientist who earned a Ph.D. in 2020 and is passionate about the integration of genome sequencing technologies in health and disease, outbreak investigations, pathogen characterization, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance. Some of his work focuses on using genome sequencing technologies and bioinformatics in AMR to better understand genomic determinants of resistance, virulence, and underlying mechanisms. His work broadly aims to contribute to areas in genomics, bioinformatics, and genome sequence analysis to improve health.
